Ada Elizabeth “Libby” Lucas, 88, of Irvington, passed away Thursday March 5.
She was a member of Holy Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Irvington. Her passion as a homemaker included loving her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She loved quilting, growing wonderful gardens, canning, playing card games, and singing with her husband “Red” and family and friends.
She was born March 27, 1931 to the late Wilson T. and Maggie Morris Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Red” Lucas, and a son, Ernest “Ernie” Lucas.
She is survived by her children, Frankie (Monica) Lucas of Brandenburg, Ricky (Violet) Lucas of Irvington, Cheryl (George) Gamman of Hawesville, Susie (Charlie) Gray of Tell City, IN, Janet (Ronnie) Robinson of Irvington, and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Lucas of Irvington; a sister, Hazel Lucas of Hardinsburg; three brothers, Jess (Brenda) Carter of Nashville, TN, Howard Carter of Missouri, and Larry Carter of Virginia; fourteen grandchildren, twenty five great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday March 9 at 11:30 a.m. ET at the Holy Guardian Angel Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Merino Cemetery in Irvington.
Visitation will be Sunday March 8 from 3 to 9 p.m. ET at the Alexander Funeral Home, and after 9:00 a.m. ET on Monday at the Holy Guardian Angel Catholic Church
