Austin Oneil Perks, age 71, of Irvington KY passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, October 16, 2020 in Brandenburg KY.
Mr. Perks was born on August 26, 1949 in Irvington, KY to the late Charles and Lula Haynes Perks. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his: loving wife Frances Brown Perks; son, Joseph William Brown; two sisters, Gloria Williams and Shirley Young, and two brothers, Randy Thomas and William David Perks.
He was a member of the St. Paul A.M.E. Church and spent most of his working life as a processer for Tyson Food Industries. He spent some time as a brick mason. He was an avid Louisville Cardinal and San Francisco 49ers Fan.
Mr. Perks is survived by his: children, Franklin D. (Nashera) Brown of Chesapeake, VA, Austin O. (Sondra) Brown of Clarksville, TN, Betsy L. Carter of Vine Grove, Jerry E. (Ann) Brown of Sweetholmes, OR, Thedora L. (Semetrius) Brown of Chicago, IL, and Jason E. (Michelle) Brown of Irvington; two sisters, Beulah (Timothy) Goins of Irvington and Rosemary (Larry) Nelson of Memphis, TN; a brother, Curtis (Candy) Perks of Irvington; 15grandchildren and 7great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington, KY on Tuesday October 20, 2020 from 12:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M. EDT with services at 2:00 P.M. EDT with Bishop Timothy Goins officiating. Burial will be in Brooks Cemetery at a later date.
