Brandenburg man charged with murder

Christopher M. Pollock, 45, of Brandenburg, was arrested on March 4 and charged with murder, resisting arrest, third-degree assault, cruelty to animals and first-degree wanton endangerment.


According to law enforcement, dispatch received a call from a 10-year-old child at approximately 9:30 p.m. stating that his step mother and her dog had been shot. Officers with the Brandenburg Police Department and Meade County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene and surrounded the house. The child came out of the front door onto the porch. Pollock was behind the child. Officers gave commands and asked for information on the shooter or if he knew who shot her. Pollock stated that he shot her. Pollock was armed with a gun on his hip and was reaching for the weapon. Officers went hands on with the subject. Pollock resisted arrest. Pollock kicked an officer in the face. Pollock was tased and placed in custody.


Police say that Pollock admitted to investigators that he shot his wife and dog while his 10-year-old son was in the home.


Kentucky State Police will be handling the investigation.
