Broadbent Wildlife Sanctuary, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife, hosted their first eagle release open to the public in more than a year this past Saturday. A large crowd gathered at Doe Run Inn to watch the release.
The juvenile bald eagle was found in a field several months ago and was ready for release after treatment and supportive care from Broadbent.
Founded in 2002, Broadbent’s goal is to rescue, rehabilitate and release native wildlife back into their natural environment. They provide care to thousands of animals each year and are now open for tours and education programs. For more information, call 270-547-4200.
