— Approved March 9 regular meeting minutes. — Approved April 13 regular meeting minutes. — Approved transfers from the waterworks and sewer revenue fund, which has a balance of $158,337.57 as of May 11: $75,000 to waterworks and sewer operation and maintenance fund, $10,000 to depreciation fund, $5,000 to sinking fund, and $5,000 to sewer line extension account. — In April, the city issued six new building permits, took 349 credit card payments, had 22 new applications for utilities, one new water and one new sewer connection. The city issued 108 service orders, 38 of which were delinquents. The city also approved two business licenses last month. — Mayor Ronnie Joyner said that the city has experienced “very little” financial loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He says that they’ll try to open up the lobby on June 1. — Police report: 245 calls for service for the month of April. 15 alarm activations. Six cases were opened, 9 cases were closed. Seven domestic violence calls. Three DUIs for the month of April. Twenty-eight business escorts and 32 assist other agencies. — Water loss for the month of April was 19 percent. The city repaired 3 leaks last month, set 4 meters and did 3 sewer taps. — The city approved three business licenses at their meeting for the following businesses: Kimberly Phillips Clothier, located at 455 Broadway; Fireworks Store 2, located at 271 Bypass Road; EXIT Realty Home Front, located at 520 Broadway, Suite #3.
