Governor Beshear began Monday's update by reiterating the 10 steps to defeating the coronavirus:

1) Stay Healthy at Home

2) Avoid Crowds & Gatherings

3) Practice Social Distancing

4) Know When to Seek Care


6) Wash Hands & Surfaces

7) Apply for Benefits

8) Prioritize Mental Health

9) Do Not Travel

10) Report Non-Compliance

The Gov. then encouraged Kentuckians to complete their census.

He said that Kentuckians are flattening the curve, but he said that the population needs to keep up the work as we are still in a surge.

Today was the first day of testing with the state's new partnership with Kroger, which aims to test 20,000 people across the Commonwealth.

They now have 250 beds on site at the field hospital being set up at the fairgrounds in Louisville, and it will be expandable. He says they'll be providing a bigger update on this soon.

Today's update:

Gov. announced 87 new cases today, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 2,048. He said that at least 629 people have recovered from COVID-19.

Gov. Beshear announced 7 new deaths today, which brings the state total to 104. Starting tomorrow morning, flags at the capitol will be flied at half mast for the next week in honor of those that have been lost.
