Bullet points from Gov.'s April 16 update



Today's update:

The Gov. announced 159 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total to 2,429. He said they believe tomorrow will likely have more new cases than have been previously reported. He also reported that one of the new cases is a 10-day-old baby in Lincoln County. Total number tested is 29,747. The number of Kentuckains that have ever been hospitalized due ti the virus: 971. Currently in the hospital: 477. There have been 506 Kentuckians ever in the ICU. Currently, there are 333. Kentucky has had 956 people recover of the 2,429 that have tested positive.


The Gov. also reported an additional 7 deaths due to COVID-19.


Department for Public Health Commissioner Dr. Steven Stack commented on the protests yesterday from a healthcare perspective.


"Our right to express ourselves should not expose others to danger that we know can leave to death," said Stack.
