For the first time in a decade, the Meade County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their Chamber Banquet. The sold-out event is scheduled this year for March 13.

Nominations for Chamber awards like Outstanding New Member, Small Business Member of the Year, Outstanding Service to the Community, the Jim Kimbell Award, and Business Member of the Year are being accepted. Any member of the public can nominate an eligible Chamber member. Nomination forms can be found on the Chamber’s website, The deadline for nominations is Feb. 29. There is also a list of all Chamber members on the Chamber’s website to help with the nomination process.

Chamber Director Annie Hamilton says that the event gives the Chamber the opportunity to recognize and thank its 174 members. It also allows them to welcome in their new leadership, which consists this year of two new board members and one new board president.

Both a live and silent auction will take place at the event, which will be held at the Doe Valley Swim and Tennis Club. Proceeds will go to benefit the Chamber’s scholarship program.

Hamilton says that the amount of support the Chamber has received this year has overwhelmed her. She’s excited to have the opportunity to thank everyone that has played a role in their success.

“We’re excited to be able to celebrate so much of our Chamber membership,” said Hamilton. “We want to recognize as many as possible.”
