Colleen Marie Barry, age 54, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville.
Colleen was born June 22, 1965 in Louisville, daughter of the late James Ralph and Marian Lyda Waldrop Barry. Her siblings: James Michael, Kevin Joseph Barry and JoAnn Cantrell also preceded her in death.
Colleen grew up in Valley Station where she sold candy as a teenager and made many lifelong friends. After high school, Colleen became a specialty welder working for Jeffboat and Tower Automotive in Indiana as well as in many other cities during her career. She was a loving daughter, sister, and mother and loved spending as much time with her grandchildren as possible.
She is survived by her four children: W. Craig Barry, Kevin Ray Barry, Katie Jean Mitchell, and Timothy A. Barry; grandchildren: Lily, Tyler, Alexia, Miles, Owen, Cadence, Bella, Max, Ian, Marcus, Logan, and Alaina; sisters: Kathleen (Jerry) Crawford of Big Clifty, Julie Marlow, Garfield, and Mary Theresa (Charles) Perry of Big Spring; and brothers: Keith Patrick Barry of Louisville, Christopher Jude (Janene) Barry of Sadieville, John Peter (Kathy) Barry of Corydon, IN, and Timothy Andrew Barry of Louisville.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, February 2 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg with burial to follow in the Perry Family Cemetery in Big Spring.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 1 from 12:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Sunday after 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
