The staff of the Meade County Public Library is excited to announce that curb side pick-up will begin on Monday, June 1 in three phases. Times will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m..
A reserve must be made first and pick up will only happen after you have been called and all items checked-out have been returned to the book drop at the library. Do not come to pick up anything until you have been called. If a message is left on your phone, listen to it carefully. It could say that we need more info, your items are ready, or other specifics.
Reserves must be made on items presently on the shelf. No requests will be taken for electronics and items that we do not have at this time. When we open our doors, we will fulfill Interlibrary Loans, electronics and other requests.
Staff will not be handling any returns, so before you drive up to the side door, drop your returns in the book drop. Ring the doorbell, get back in your vehicle and someone will come out to help you. Please have your library card ready to hand to staff.
Phase 1: Patrons who had reserves on items prior to March 16 will be able to pick up their holds on Monday, June 1 after being notified.
If you do not receive a call, your holds are presently not available.
Phase 2: Beginning on Tuesday, June 2, the reserve button will be activated back on our website, www.meadereads.org. Patrons will be able to reserve up to 15 items per household. All holds must be placed on one library card. If you prefer to call to make reserves, the limit is three due to the time involved. On-line reserves are highly recommended.
Phase 3: On Wednesday, June 3, pick up service begins for everyone. We cannot guarantee same day pick up. In order to call you, your phone number must be working.
Curb side service is subject to change, if needed. We ask for your patience and understanding as we tread new waters and can’t wait to see you.
