Dollar Store thieves caught before they can flee county


According to arrest reports, a Meade County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to the Dollar Store at Brandenburg Station on a report of shoplifting. The two individuals left the property in separate vehicles with no license plates attached to them. The Muldraugh Police Department located the vehicles traveling on HWY 1638 and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicles in Muldraugh.

The drivers of the vehicles were identified as Antonio Christian and Terry Bouggess, III, both of Louisville. Both men admitted to stealing from the Dollar Store. The stolen items were located in both vehicles and returned to the Dollar Store. The store totaled the items to be worth $880.75. Both men were lodged in the Meade County Detention Center on charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking, Shoplifting greater than $500 but less than $1,000. Bouggess was booked at 6:03 p.m. and was released on recognizance at 11:13 p.m. that same day with a court date on June 8. Christian was also booked at the same time as Bouggess but was held on a $1,000 cash bond. Christian went before the District Court and was sentenced to 12 months, probated to 5 days and received credit for time served.
