Donald Ray Martin, age 74, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2020 at Norton Pavilion in Louisville, KY.
He was born June 4, 1946 in New Albany, IN, son of the late Esther Lee and Mary Viola Locke Martin. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David L. Martin.
Don was retired from the U.S. Army Reserves where he worked in the 100th Division of Public Affairs and the 87th Brigade. He worked as an illustrator at the Armor School on Ft. Knox, KY where he retired with 35 years of service and was a member of the Association of the Century. Don received Associate Degrees from both the Sullivan Business College and the Louisville School of Art. He was an artist, a business consultant for 11 years, and a member of the Brandenburg United Methodist Church where he was active with the Military Ministry.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon L. Martin; children, Douglas Ray (Jennifer) Martin of Olympia, WA and Michelle Lee Caudle of Fredrick, MD; and grandchildren: Justin Martin, Tyler (Samantha) Caudle, Darby Caudle, Ainsley Martin, and Grace Martin.
Private services will be held with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West, Louisville, KY. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a future date.
