Doris Elaine Basham Stivers, age 70, of Brandenburg, KY passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 7, 2020.
She was born on June 27, 1950 in Irvington, KY, the daughter of the late Charles Webb “CW” and Clara Louise Adkisson Basham. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Graybeal Stivers and her brothers: Donnie and David Basham.
Doris was a member of the Irvington Baptist Church, served and spoiled everyone at Green Valley Restaurant in Irvington for many years and was loved by all. Her smile and hugs were part of who she was and she always made people feel special. She was a good Christian who lived her life as a true daughter of Christ. Her home was open to everyone and everyone who entered her home felt accepted, loved, and like they were part of her family. Her family was always very important to her, she loved them very much.
She is survived by her children: Chuck (Connie) Stivers of Union Star, KY and Heather (Ashley) Snook of Richmond, KY; sisters: Anita (Hippy) Baker of Jeffersonville, IN, Gail (Jim) Wilson of Irvington and Becky (Keith) Herron of Rineyville, KY; brothers: Roger (Joyce) Basham and BJ (Marla) Basham of Big Spring, KY; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. E.S.T. on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from the Chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington with burial to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 from 4-8 P.M. E.S.T. and after 9 A.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
