Dorothy June Parker, born August 21, 1916, in Flint, MI, died peacefully at Brandenburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on October 24th, 2020 at the age of 104. Dorothy moved to Brandenburg in 1976. She loved dancing and in her younger years was in many dance competitions. She was full of life and known to her family as “our little firecracker.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Jayne Browne. She is survived by a son-in-law, John Browne, Brandenburg, KY; a granddaughter and her care giver, Terri Stowers, Brandenburg, KY; a granddaughter, Debby Suiter (Roger), Louisiana; a son, Jim Parker and his wife, Carolyn, DeWitt, MI; a sister, Margaret James, Flint, MI; grandchildren, Jefferey (Kelly) Parker, Lapeer, MI, Mary Parker, Ortonville, MI, Jonathan (Jenn) Parker, St. Johns, MI; great grandchildren, Jesse (Heather) Smith, Stephensport, KY, Blake Smith and Bradly Smith, both of Brandenburg, KY, Chelsea (Dave) Ertwine, South Carolina, Tyler (Kasey) Carpenter, Louisiana, Lacey Suiter, Maryland, Haley Suiter, California. Dorothy also has fourteen great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. She was much honored when her great granddaughter, Chelsea Ertwine, named her daughter, Parker Ertwine, after her.
In honoring Dorothy’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation. There will be a celebration of Dorothy’s life in the spring, at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint, MI. Online condolences may be left at www.hagerfuneralhome.com.
