After an extensive search and interview process, the Meade County Board of Education has selected Dr. Mark Martin to become the district’s next Superintendent beginning July 1. Dr. Martin will fill the position as a result of Dr. John Millay’s retirement in February.
Dr. Martin currently serves the district as Director of Special Education and several other key coordinator roles. A graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he earned his Doctorate in Education Leadership, he has served in education for twelve years as a special education teacher and administrator, joining the Meade County Schools in his current position in 2014.
Dr. Martin’s selection ends the search process where a screening committee, consisting of elected district staff and parents, reviewed applications from twelve applicants prior to making their recommendation to the Board.
The Board will hold a formal vote on contractual terms at their next meeting, May 11, 2020.
