Frances Lou Bruner, age 85, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Willow Creek Senior Living in Elizabethtown, KY. Frances was born May 7, 1936 in Payneville, KY to the late Theodore Roosevelt and Lillie Ellen McGrady Hockman. Her sisters, Juanita P. Meeks and Sylvia Humphrey; brothers, Dennis Wayne Hockman, Curtis L. Hockman, and Henry R. Hockman; and grandson, Bradley Rhodes also preceded her in death. Frances was a member of the Salem Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, crochet, garden, and work outside in the yard as much as she could.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Bennie B. Bruner of Brandenburg; son, Bennie Edward “Eddie” (Sharon) Bruner of Brandenburg; grandchildren, Danielle (Brock) Wiltshire of Big Clifty, KY and Sarah (Travis) Shacklette of Rhodelia, KY; great-grandchildren, Avery Shacklette and Drake Shacklette of Rhodelia; sister, Faye Sedoris Urbassik of Lexington, KY; special niece, Margie Dean; and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM EST from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg, KY with Bro. Ronnie Hockman officiating. Burial followed in St. George Cemetery in Brandenburg. Visitation was Friday, February 18, 2022 from 1:00 – 8:00 PM EST and after 9:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
