Garcia Alfred Moore, age 74 of Irvington, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020 in Louisville, KY.
He was born in Clintwood, VA to James Alfred Dilley and Frances Marie Viers. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Sonny Hulon.
Garcia was proud to be born and raised in the hills of WV, he loved baseball and even tried out for the Cincinnati Reds (he was good enough, but too short to be hired). He served in the U.S. Army as a Flamethrower during the Vietnam War, and retired from the Army after 22 years. After his Army career, he worked at Tyson in Corydon, IN, and owned his own painting business.
He is survived by his: wife of over 33 years, Hanelore Elizabeth Vischer; children, Kenneth (Susan) Moore of Louisville, Barbara Shea of Elizabethtown, Shannon (Heather) Moore of Radcliff, Michelle Gibson of Irvington, Scott Sattler of MO, Edward (Tammy) Vischer of MN; sisters, Mildred (Walter) Hartley of York, SC, Emily Lee Woodard of NC, and Pat (Jim) Hennessy of OH; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family is being served by Alexander Funeral Home. No services will be held.
