Garry Allen Taylor, age 73 of Louisville, passed away on March 1.
He was born on September 11, 1946 in Irvington to the late John Thomas Taylor and Eva Juanita Dowell Taylor. His aunt Mary Richard Johnson also preceded him in death.
Garry was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army and a recipient of a Purple Heart medal. He worked as a general contractor and supervised the building of many large projects, including churches and Churchill Downs. He also owned a restaurant, Lums, in Columbus, GA.
He is survived by his: children, Jenny Taylor of GA, Tracey Taylor of Louisville, and John (Khami) Taylor of Wilmore; sisters, Sharon Taylor Smith and Shirley Taylor Aiken; twin brother, Larry T. Taylor; 7 grandkids; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and fellowship of friends and family to celebrate the life of Garry will be held at Alexander Funeral Home on Thursday, March 5 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Burial Services will be held Friday, March 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
