Greenwaves hold off a Cougar attack

Rich Fairman:

Sports Reporter

The Meade County Greenwave Basketball team hosted the Bullitt Central Cougars on Jan 3, in their first game of the new year. Meade came out looking strong in the first half, taking a quick lead using fast ball movement around the top of the key. Meade used their pressure defense, to try and trap the Bullitt Central offense as they brought the ball up the court. The Meade’s defense worked well as they were able to force turnovers to transition of the ball back on the offense. By the end of the first period Meade had built up a six-point lead with senior Mitchell Dozier leading the charge with nine points. Bullitt Central keyed in on Dozier in the second period, double teaming him and sensually shutting him down, but Meade’s other offensive shooters picked up the slack to help them maintain their lead into the half.
