Harvest begins in Meade County

This past Thursday officially started the fall corn harvest in Meade County when Joe, Ryan and Steven Hager pulled their combines into the field that surrounds Joe’s house outside Flaherty. This was the first field planted in Meade County earlier this year. Despite it being early yet for many, the field reportedly averaged around 19 percent moisture. Meade County motorists should use caution on the roadways for the rest of this fall as more and more farmers take to the harvest fields with oversized equipment in the coming weeks.
