By Brenna Cooper, Meade County Public Library
The Meade County Public Library offers you access to dozens of free resources, one of which is hoopla. Hoopla is an enormous digital media service available through your browser or as an app on any device, including your smart TV, game console, phone, tablet, or streaming stick. Hoopla offers access to movies, TV series, books, audio books, music albums, and more.
Hoopla is free to use for all Meade County residents: all you need to get started is an email and your MCPL card. To register for the first time, go to our website at www.meadereads.org and click the Hoopla button on the right. Then click the ‘Get Started Today’ button. After you have set up you account, you can login at the top of that page, or on the app on any device.
Each Hoopla user can check out up to 15 items a month for a limited time! Hoopla has also put together a Bonus Borrows collection full of titles that don’t count toward your monthly total. Because of this year’s sporadic film schedule, Hoopla has added more movies and TV shows than ever before, and there are new additions every day. You can browse the collection by release date, date added to Hoopla, rating, format, and more.
The Library may not be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but our digital collections are! Finishing your book on Saturday night doesn’t mean you have to wait until Monday to continue your story. With Hoopla and Libby (our other online library) we have titles available for you anytime, anywhere. If you have any questions, you can call us at 270-422-2094. Happy reading!
