HVAC/R program and Welding program receive donation

Photo submitted On March 13, the Mechanical Contractors Association of Kentucky stopped in at the Meade County Area Technology Center to make two check presentations to the schools HVAC/R program and Welding program. Scott Lusk (President of the MCAKY), Leonard Heuser (Past President of the MCAKY) and Steve Milby (Executive Director of the MCAKY) brought two checks in the amount of $5,000.00 each donated to the programs to be used towards the purchase of tools, equipment, materials and consumables. Darren M. Jones (HVAC/R Instructor), Ben Bowen (Welding Instructor), and Nick Sutherland (ATC Principal) were present as well as both of their Junior and Senior classes for the presentation. The MCAKY’s continued support of these two programs help set the stage for future HVAC/R service technicians, welders, pipe fitters and plumbers from Meade County to successfully start a career in the mechanical trades that is second to none.
