The Meade County/Brandenburg Industrial Authority has purchased a two-acre lot off of Bud Wilson Road. Their intention is to use the ground for an easement and put in a water line that will provide water on 933. The project’s design is being finished now, and pending approval in Frankfort, Chairman David Pace says he optimistically projects completion in six months.

Pace will be working full time for the county effective April 5. Pace will likely continue this until the end of 22, but he will still retain multiple responsibilities at RECC. He says that this will allow him to be more accessible to prospective businesses that need assistance or have questions. He can be reached at 270-422-JOBS (5627).

Three tier two companies that will provide 40-50 jobs are potentially joining the community, although their names have not yet been released. Additionally, Nucor has leased the old Shopko building at 777 Brandenburg-Ekron Road for at least one year, but that period could be extended if necessary.
