-- Information on Reported Threat of School Violence -- December 8th, 2021

12:50pm: Though our students were never in any danger, Meade County Schools wants to make our families aware of an incident that occurred today. This morning, Stuart Pepper Middle School was notified by an outside individual that there was rumor of a school shooting threat today, December 8th, 2021. Upon notification, school officials immediately began investigating with law enforcement officials. At this time no credibility to this threat has been identified.

The increase in security across our campuses is simply a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of our students and staff, which is our highest priority. Teaching and learning is continuing. Afternoon dismissal will continue on schedule for today for all schools.

Please know that Meade County Schools, Brandenburg Police Department, and the Meade County Sheriff’s Office take these situations very seriously, as the safety of our students is always our absolute top priority. We take communication with our families seriously and want you to be aware of these types of situations that impact your child. Sometimes, these situations can frighten students. Please discuss this situation with your children and let us know if follow-up is needed at school.
