James E. Hardesty

James E. Hardesty, 77, Louisville, passed Thursday, November 26, 2020, in Ft. Myers, FL.

Ed leaves his wife of 58 years, Julia (Basham); three daughters, Karen Benham, Rineyville, Michele Martin, Mainville, OH, and Jennifer Hardesty, Urbana, IL; two grandchildren, Chelsea and David; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Sean; also leaves three siblings, Bonnies Manning (John), Louisville, Dorothy Payne (Jimmy), Hardinsburg, and John Hardesty (Sharon), Bradenton, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruth Hardesty of Rhodelia, and sister, Martha Ann.

Ed retired from Ford Motor Co., Louisville assembly plant with 40 years of service, at the time of his retirement he was UAW benefit representative.

He was a loyal UAW member, a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, a UK basketball fan, liked oscar fishing in the Everglades, and playing poker. His retirement time was divided between Louisville and Estero, FL.

Newcomer Cremations Funerals & Receptions southwest chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy Louisville) was entrusted with arrangements.
