Kids return to school ready to learn in Meade County

Inspired by fellow retired teacher, Dr. Ethel Percy Adams, the Meade County Retired Teachers Association recently donated $150 to the Meade County Family Resource Center to help out with needed supplies for this 2020 school year. The center was encouraged to use the donation in any way that will best meet classroom and student needs for this COVID-19 school year opening.

As retired educators, the MCRTA members know that students are best ready to learn when they have the basic tools they need. Betty Barger, local MCRTA president, said the organization is committed to giving back to the community that has given so much support to it.

“It’s been a pleasure to work with Meade Public Schools’ Family Resource Center and see the many ways in which their work has a positive influence on students and teachers. We hope our donation can make life a little better for children in need in Meade County,” said Barger.
