Ladywaves bid farewell to seniors

Prior to the Meade County High School Ladywave Volleyball’s final home game on Oct. 12 against Moore High School, (which they defeated in straight sets) the team’s boosters, coaches, family, and fans celebrated their five departing seniors.

Defensive Specialist Katie Stout, escorted by her parents Mandy and Steve Stout, is a member of HOSA, Pep Club and SADD and the Buck Grove Baptist Church Youth group. She holds offices in the National Honors Society and Future Christian Athletes. After graduating high school Katie plans to attend Eastern Kentucky University to major in nursing. She would like to thank her mom for coming to every single game and being her forever biggest fan. MCHS for allowing her to meet life-long friends and Coach Saylor and Kristen’s for life advice along with being amazing coaches. Finally, her entire family, Nana, Papaw, Mimi, Gage and Dad for always cheering and loving her unconditionally.

Defensive Specialist Erica Jewell, escorted by her parents Mickey and April Jewell. Erica is a member of HOSA, SADD, National Honors Society, Suture Christian Athletes and Lincoln Trail Salute. Her future includes attending college to pursue a degree in health sciences. She would like to thank her parents and sister for coming to all her games and to all her past coaches, especially Coach Saylor.

Libero Jolie Sonner was escorted by David Sonner and Jim and Jenny Russel. Jolie is the MCHS Senior Class President and member of Pep-Club, Y-Club, HOSA, SADD, FBLA, National Honors Society, Fellow Christian Athletes, Lincoln Trail Youth Salute, St. John’s Youth Group and Meade Crossfit. Her future includes attending the University of Kentucky where she will major in biology. She would like to thank her parents, family, friends, fellow teammates, coaches Saylor, Bewley, Hardcastle and Heibert, Volleyball Boosters and especially her sister Lexie for all the love and support.

Setter Ella Gagel, escorted by her parents Bob and Elissa Gagel. Ella is a the MCHS Class secretary and member of Pep-Club, HOSA, FBLA, SADD, Fellow Christian Athletes, and National Honors Society. Her future includes attending college at Eastern Kentucky University where she will major in nursing. She would like to thank her mother, father, and grandmother for being her biggest supporters, Coach Saylor for rescuing them and both Kristens for making practices so much fun and pushing them.

Defensive Specialist and Outside Hitter Ann Rogers, escorted by her parents Brandon and Amanda Rogers. Ann is the MCHS Ladywave Volleyball Captain and a member of FBLA, Fellow Christian Athletes, National Honors Society and belongs to the St. John’s Youth Ministry. Her future includes attending Western Kentucky University where she will major in education and behavioral science. She would like to thank Coach Saylor for making her a better player, KB for being her bestie, and Kristen H. for looking out for her. She also thanks all the boosters, her parents, family, and friends for always supporting her.
