Ladywaves ready for District

RICHARD FAIRMAN Messenger Staff

With the Meade County High School Ladywave volleyball teams season drawing to a close, they played their final district game against the Cloverport Lady Aces on Oct. 13 at home. In the first set, Meade had no problems handling anything that Cloverport could throw at them. With Meade using their set-up skills, they continued to set the ball perfectly for the team’s ball killers. Meade would run away with the first set, dominating Cloverport all over the court. Cloverport kept it close for a little while early in the second set until Meade settled in at the net, blocking shots and placing the kill shots in holes that Cloverport left open. Even with Cloverport crashing the net to try and guard against Meade’s kills, they would falter in the end as Meade finished the set strong to take the set.

In the third set of the match, Meade wasted no time in making their point known. Their plan was to end the evening strong and with a dominating win. In the final set, at match point, Meade had rotated in young players on the court and finished off the Lady Aces with a tap that just cleared the net for the final point winning in straight sets.
