The Meade County High School Ladywave Golf team has a lot riding on this season. Last season they made school history by winning the 5th Region Championship, luckily for Meade, the same five athletes from that winning team, make up this year’s team as well. So, their chances of a repeat are looking pretty good. Looking so good in fact, they have been winning at almost every event they’ve been to. If not as a team, they have brought home individual wins, and all this adds up to them putting in the hard work and playing as a team. For head coach Chris Love, it is going to be hard to see four of his athletes graduate at the end of the year, but he has a host of talent ready to move up and start a new legacy.

On September 16, the Meade County Ladywaves hosted Breckenridge County at Doe Valley Golf Course where they continued their winning. Breck turned in a score of 199 while Meade turned in a score of 155, demolishing Breck Co. by 44 strokes.

“The girls have had an awesome season, with an undefeated match record this year. They have played very well at tournaments, as well, throughout the season.” Coach Love said of his girls, “They seem to be in a great place as we move towards the region tournament on September 27.”

Senior Jenna Pike led the girls with a score of 35, followed by senior Haley English (37), freshmen Peyton Bradley (41), senior Avery Shacklette (42), and filling in for senior Mimi Honaker was Amelia Wooldridge (52).
