Larry Glenn Riggs


Larry Glenn Riggs, 71, of Vine Grove, KY passed away Monday, March 8, 2021, at Sentara Norfolk Heart & Kidney Center in Norfolk, VA, with his wife, Julie, by his side, after a short illness.

Mr. Riggs was a veteran of the Vietnam War with the 23rd Americal division having served in the United States Army with twenty-three years of service. After his military career, Larry enjoyed his time at Java Express Coffeehouse. He was much loved by his family, who will miss his guidance, opinions, military stories, and love. Larry’s core beliefs were faith, family, and freedom and he was a true Patriot. He was a loving son, husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle, and trusting friend.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Julie Miller-Riggs of Vine Grove, KY; four children, Aaron Riggs, Rebecca Brown, Keri (Shane) Crutcher, Andrew (Lauryn) Couch; six grandchildren, Zachary Sr. (Rachel), Holli (Matt), Samuel, Noah, Cooper, and Kieran; three great-grandchildren, Emma, Zachary Jr., and Riley. Mr. Riggs is also survived by his 101yo mother, Elsie Riggs of Virginia Beach, three sisters, Sandra Crockett and Kimela Roberts of Virginia Beach, and Darlene Smith of Cove City, North Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family & friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Julian Riggs, brother, Perry Riggs.

Funeral services for Mr. Riggs will be privately held at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

The public is invited to attend a graveside service with military honors at 12:30 PM, Friday, March 19, 2021, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 N Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Mr. Riggs is requesting that expressions of sympathy be made to your favorite charity of choice.
