Lawrence L. “Larry” Clardy, Jr., age 90, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away Monday, June 29, 2020 at his residence.

Larry was born August 12, 1929 in Santa Fe, NM son of the late Lawrence L. and Otis Wells Clardy, Sr. His first wife, Juanita M. Allen Clardy and one sister also preceded him in death.

Larry retired as a Lt. Col. of the US Army having served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired as the Dean of Business Affairs of the Jefferson Community College in Louisville, KY. He was the former owner of The Doll House Scrapbook and Gift Shop and was a member of Rock Haven Baptist Church where he was a former trustee, finance chairman, Sunday school teacher, and AWANA games director. He was also a member of the Meade Camp of the Gideons International.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jo-Een S. Clardy of Brandenburg; children: Mark (Iris) Clardy of Virginia, Heather Dickie of Dallas, TX, Eric (Jennifer) Rider of Brandenburg, and Kyle (Amber) Rider of Brandenburg; and grandchildren: Jeremy Dickie, Michael and Lauren Clardy, Makena Shelton, Trevor Goodwin, Kaylee Rider, and Karlee and Nolan Rider.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Rock Haven Baptist Church in Brandenburg, KY with burial to follow in Garnettsville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home and Friday, July 3 after 10:00 AM at Rock Haven Baptist Church.
