M. R. “Ranny” Stith, JR., age 86, of Webster, KY, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 20, 1935, in Webster, KY to the late Morris Randall Stith, Sr. and Annabell Foote Stith. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sweet heart, and wife of 56 years Audrey Mae Bruner Stith; brother, John Stith; sister, Doris (Carl B) Mitcham; and two grandchildren, Jamie Stith and Andrew Stith.
Ranny or M.R. was a graduate of Irvington High School; a member of the Webster United Methodist Church; served in the Kentucky Air National Guard and in the Army National Guard; worked at Olin Chemical Corp. for 22 years, before moving on in 1974 when he worked for Erdman Corp. from 1974-1981. In 1981 he started Webster Corporation which he owned and operated until his “retirement”. In his retired years he helped start funeral homes in AL and FL that grew to be very successful businesses that have helped many people. M.R. was just a good old country boy at heart, he was always helping others. He dearly loved his kids and grandkids, and was so very proud of each and every individual accomplishment they made, no matter what it was. He has left a wonderful legacy and will be both cherished and missed by many.
He is survived by one daughter, Debbie (Darrell) Simmons of Webster, KY; three sons, Rick (Sherry) Stith of Irvington, KY, Jerry (Dawn) Stith of Rineyville, KY, Lloyd (Nanette) Stith of Bardstown, KY; four sisters, Elizabeth (Howard) King of Guston, KY, Peggy (Gordon) Hash of Elizabethtown, KY, Linda (Jeff) Clark of Marshall, VA, and Sheila (Steve) Boros of Harrodsburg, KY; brother, Larry (Carolyn) Stith of Scipio, IN; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington, KY on Friday, November 12, 2021, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM EST and Saturday from 9:00 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. EST
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 2:00 PM EST at Irvington United Methodist Church, (106 Walnut St, Irvington, KY 40146) with Rev. Jim Robinson, Rev. Josh Pack, and Rev. Cindy Palacios officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery next to his wife Audrey, Irvington, KY.
