Mary “JoAnne” Steuart, 80, passed away at her Brandenburg, Kentucky home on October 22, 2021. JoAnne was born July 11, 1941, in Los Angeles, the daughter of Kermit Geary and Emily Emeline (Ehret) Geary. JoAnne was baptized at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Los Angeles. After high school, JoAnne moved to Santa Barbara where she met her husband Robert. Following many visits to JoAnne’s sister in Doe Valley of Brandenburg, Kentucky, the couple decided to move to Kentucky where they enjoyed the Doe Valley community and friends for many years until their deaths. Joanne is remembered for her infectious laugh, love for entertaining and exceptional culinary skills; her sensitivities toward children; and her compassion for animals in need. On behalf of Joanne’s family, we want to thank the wonderful, cherished neighbors and friends of Doe Valley that befriended, supported and assisted JoAnne and Bob. JoAnne was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, Robert Steuart, and her sister, Susan Lewis. JoAnne is survived by her sister, Patricia Jane Chavana (Charles) of Tustin; stepchildren, Tim Steuart of Inglewood, CA, Tracy Steuart and Tamara Steuart both of Santa Barbara, CA; her niece, Michelle Lyon (Jason) of Calimesa, CA, great nephew James Tate, great niece, Brooke Ashley of Calimesa, half-brother James Geary, half-sister Patricia Geary and numerous beloved Ehret cousins.
