McAlister selected to serve as Director of Meade County Early Childhood Education

Meade County Schools has named Mrs. Megan McAlister as their new Director of Early Childhood Education beginning July 1. For the past two years, Mrs. McAlister has served the Meade County community as principal of Brandenburg Primary School. Mrs. McAlister began her career with Hardin County Schools and served as a teacher in grades K-5 for 10 years and as an assistant principal for 3 years before transitioning to Meade County.


“Mrs. McAlister’s love for children and primary level experiences as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal will position our future Greenwaves for success. Preschool is growing in Meade County and our vision is to expand opportunities during the next two years for families. I am confident in Mrs. McAlister’s leadership during this important time in our district,” remarked Dr. Mark Martin, Superintendent for Meade County School.

Mrs. McAlister’s 15 years of experience demonstrates a depth of knowledge and leadership in early childhood education to serve families and team members across the school district. “I am excited about the opportunity to help all Meade County families and to continue the tradition of excellence for all students. My diverse experiences throughout my career have positioned me to continue to be a strong instructional leader. I am looking forward to working alongside our team to carry out our vision for our youngest Greenwaves,“ McAlister shared.
