McCrumb joins Messenger staff

By Ashley McCrumb

I am a new graphic designer for the Meade County Messenger. I am new to Meade County, and new to Kentucky! I was born and raised in Chicago, Ill. where I have lived most of my life. I went to college in Carbondale, Ill. where I met my husband, Thomas. We were students when we got married. We were hitched on a Sunday and had midterms on the following Monday!

After graduation, we moved to Brandenburg to pursue work in our fields. My husband is a Veteran of the Marine Corps and is currently the mechanic for the Air Evac Helicopter in Hardinsburg. So far, we really love the area, and we are looking forward to getting to know everyone in town.

A little more about me, I am a foodie by nature but a health food nut by choice. I love dogs in general, and I enjoy hiking on the local trails in my free time. I have a Corgi-Pug mixed dog named Pooh Bear who is completely spoiled and treated like a member of the family. I love video games, reading, karaoke, and photography. I have a teal green ukulele and I am learning to play some songs on it. Right now, I only know one.

I’m hoping to become an important asset to the Meade County Messenger and aspire to learn as much as I can about the industry while I am working here!
