MCHS Basketball Senior Night

 Prior to the Meade County High School Greenwave Basketball’s final home game of the season, the Coaches and boosters recognized and celebrated four departing MCHS Dance team seniors, along with four MCHS Greenwave Basketball seniors. The Dance Team was the first to be introduced.

 Emilee Oliver, escorted by her mother Lori Oliver, plans to attend Western Kentucky University after graduation to major in early childhood education. She is a member of HOSA, was on the MCHS Cheer Team during her freshmen and sophomore year before switching to the MCHS Dance Team for her junior and senior years. Emilee was also crowned the 2020 Basketball Homecoming Queen.

 Heaven Mixon, escorted by Brad and Tammy Breehl, and James Mixon. Heaven plans to attend the University of Louisville after graduation to major in health services, then move on to become a trauma surgeon. She is a member of HOSA, Yearbook staff, Pep Club and has been with the MCHS Dance team all four years and was recognized as an All-American Dancer in her junior and senior year. During her freshmen year she received the Award of Excellence from the Harvard Medical Conference.

 Jenna Blakey, escorted by her mother, Amanda Webb, and Grandmother Shirley Webb. Jenna will be attending Berea College after graduation where he plans to study Psychology and earn a doctorate to one day become a Psychologist. She is a member of the Pep Club, GSA, SADD, National Honors Society, MCHS concert choir, show choir and soundwaves. She is also a member of the All-American dance team, and has performed in Rome, Italy for the New Year’s Day Parade.

 Katie Black, escorted by mother and stepfather, Jason and Jessica Craven, also by her father and stepmother, Chris and Kristie Black. Katie will be attending the University of Kentucky after graduation where she will major in social work. She is currently the Captain of the MCHS Dance team and has been with the team all four years, she is a member of the All- American Dance team and her dance awards consist of Most improved, 110%, Miss Congeniality, and showmanship award.

 After the Dance team was recognized it was time for the Basketball players to be honored.

Parker Johnston, son of John and Ramona Johnston, will go onto play tennis for the Brescia University after graduating from high school where he will major in accounting with a minor in sports management. Parker is a member of National Honors Society, DECA, Greenwave Basketball for four years, and MCHS Tennis for five years. Is fondest memory while playing basketball was being able to dunk a ball during a game.

 Mitchell Dozier, son of Nate Dozier, has signed to play football at Wabash College to pursue a master’s degree in psychology, then to continue onto medical school to one day receive a doctorate degree in psychology. Mitchell is a also a member of the Greenwave Football team, HOSA, and was the Powderpuff coach.

 Brayden Blankenship, son of Brent Blankenship, and Chris and Amy Biddle. Brayden is still undecided on a university to attend after graduating, but when he does decide he will major in pursuing a major in business while running cross country and track. He is a member of the MCHS cross country and track teams and FCA. He won the 2019 Cross Country Regional Championship, while earning the 2019 Cross Country Individual Conference runner up honors.

 Manger Autumn Griffin, the daughter of Mark and Kristie Griffin, plans to attend Western Kentucky University after graduation where she will major in sports management and photojournalism. She is a member of Y-Club, Pep Club, HOSA, Rec League softball, tennis and has managed the Greenwave Basketball team the last four years. Her favorite memories are getting her boot off after three weeks, and what she will forever miss is the bus rides to away games with Coach Cross playing Party in the USDA by Miley Cyrus.
