The Meade County Fair Parade will have a new starting point at Meade-Olin Park

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Meade County Fair Parade will now start from Meade-Olin Park instead of its usual launching point from the St. John’s parking lot. This year’s parade will take place on Sunday, July 24 at 2:30 p.m. Floats may start arriving at 12 p.m. but need to be finished before arrival. There will be two entrances and two exits with people on hand to direct participants where they need to go. Those in charge of the parade ask for patience and understanding as they also adjust to the new location. Parking will be limited, so they continue to ask for float riders and walkers to be dropped off or to carpool to help with congestion. Judging will start at 1:45 p.m. which means that floats need to be in line by 1:30 p.m. to be included in the judging. If you have any questions, please call Katie (270)750-0056, Billie (270)750-0054, Abby (270)945-4462, Ashley (270)750-0239 or Joe (270)668-2299. The included picture is a rough sketch of the staging areas. Though, adjustments may have to be made. The parade will still follow the same route it always does to the Meade County Fairgrounds.
