Michael Harold “Mike” Stith, age 68, of Ekron, passed away Sunday, March 15 at Baptist Health Louisville.
Mike was born April 2, 1951 in Louisville, son of the late Harold Howard and Juanita Simpson Stith.
Mike’s passion in life was restoring vehicles to perfection. He was the owner/operator of the Stith Body Shop in Ekron for many years and was a founding member of the Meade County Classic Cruisers. He was a judge and helped run may of the MCCC car shows in Brandenburg. Mike’s crowning achievement was when his 1959 Ford F-100 won the Carl Casper International Car Show Award in Louisville. He was a member of Buck Grove Baptist Church and was formerly on the Buck Grove Cemetery Board and was the cemetery caretaker for several years. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Unit at Baptist Health Louisville for their care and understanding and making Mike’s last few days as comfortable as possible.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Gretchen Ann Fraley Stith; two sons, Levi J. Stith of Ekron and Michael Cody (Cassey) Stith of Elizabethtown; two granddaughters, Payton Elizabeth and Presley Rae Stith; three grandsons: Dwayne, Riley, and Brodie Gibson; two brothers, Bruce W. Stith of Brandenburg and Greg (Linda) Stith of Brandenburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 12:00 PM EDT from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg with burial to follow in Buck Grove Cemetery in Ekron, KY.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2010 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM EDT and after 10:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
