St’s Mary & Theresa

Deacon Greg Beavin

In Luke’s Gospel chapter five there is a very compassionate story of a man full of leprosy, who approached Jesus asking to be healed. His request was not a demand, although knowing good and well that Jesus had the power to do so; but rather, he requested healing if Jesus wished. Jesus was obviously moved by this man’s humility and did will it, curing him immediately.

When we are hurting it is hard not to demand immediate action from God as we pray, but to simply ask is just as powerful and then have the faith that God’s will be done.
