NANCY DORIS BRUINGTON


Nancy Doris Bruington, nee Hendrick, age 101 of Hardinsburg, passed away at home with her daughter by her side on Monday, May 11, 2020.

She was born in Kirk, KY on September 28, 1918 daughter of the late William & Mildred Miller Hendrick. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Lowell “C.L.” Bruington, sisters, Betsy Pickett & Lu Alexander, and brother, Howard Hendrick

Nancy was a member of Hardinsburg Baptist Church. She was hired by Chrysler Corp in Evansville, IN when they converted the plant from automobiles to a munitions plant during WWII. When the munitions contract ended after 10 months she was transferred to the Tanks and Jeep Division where she worked repairing the Tanks and Jeeps until the end of the war.

She is survived by her: daughter, Emily (Jody) Bruington-Tisdale of Ramer, AL; grandson, Bryan (Mary) Hamrick; granddaughters, Courtney (Ryan) Ross and Kayla Hamrick; nieces and nephews: Jane (Richard) Pickett-Shirley and their son Matthew; Ann Hendrick, her daughter, Sarah (Kent) Clark and their children Kayla & Kyle, her son, Aaron (Stephanie) Wamble and their children Chance & Easton; Susan Pickett (Jack) Kroeger and their children, Jason Baines, Jack (Melissa) Baines and their children William & John, Jeff (Sherry) Baines and their Children Cody, Nathan, & Ava; Betty Lou (J.L.) Burke, their children Beth Ann (Rob) Garrett, Ben Burke, & Joseph Burke; Nancy Owen, her children, Allyson (Adam) Hinton, their children, Ian, Everett, & Owen, and Madelyn (Aaron) Norwood their children, Jasper & Lula; Ray Allen Hendrick (dec.) his former wife, Lynn Russell, their children, Steven (Anna) Hendrick and their children, Katlynn & Michael, Missy Hendrick her children Austin, Croley, Kash, & Kira Hampton, Bill (Jennifer) Hendrick their children, Hailey & Eli Hendrick, Brian (Shaylayna) Hendrick and their children Jenna, Hanna, & Chance Hendrick, Kylee & Kaleb Ford, Chad (Keshia) Hendrick and their son Jack (Daphane) Hendrick, Susan (Jerry) Pile and their children Isabell, Reagan, & Gibson; Miller Hendrick his children, Marcia (Chad) Myers and their children Jordan Myers, Gabe Hendrick, & Ollie Myers, Ashley Marie (Alice Hainline Sevcik) Hendrick; Marvin Elroy (dec.) (Bettyruth) Bruington their children, Michael (Jackie) Bruington their children Mary Virginia (Ryan) Kelly and Jonathan P. Bruington, John M. (Debbie) Bruington their children, Kenneth M. Bruington and daughter Addie Bruington, Evelyn E “Betsy” (Danny) Montplaisir and their children, Isabella E. and baby girl, Nancy (Ron) Cheak, Benjamin C. (Courtney) Mohler and their children, Luke, Dylan, & Riley, Daniel (Jessica) Mohler and their children, Silas, Mary Ella; Evelyn (Willis) Moremen (both dec.) their children, David (Patricia) Moremen Jacob and Amy Moremen and their children Evelyn and Aiden, Jeremy and Meagan Moremen and their children Jackson and Connor Moremen, Heather Moremen, Lee Ann (Dave) Toy and their children, Keely Wilson and their children, Amber, Natalie, Ben, and Grace Wilson, Kasey Toy; Patricia Rudeseal (dec.) her children, Michael Snow Rudeseal and Ellie Rudeseal and her children Collin and Caden; Charles Stephens (Gwen) Bruington and their children Sarah (Chris) Hegenbart their children, Hunter Tawzer, Nathan Tawzer, Jeremy Tawzer, & Amanda Hegenbart, Rebecca Linda (Allen) Carter Jr. and their children Arabella June Tipton, Lily Marie Carter, Allen Noah Carter, Gwenna Carter, Samuel Bear Carter, & Benjamin Carter, Stephen Boyd (Sarah) Bruington and their children Jennifer Marie, Hailey, Madison, & Cady, Charles David (Sabina) Bruington and their children Linus, Theodore, and Lincoln, Laura Bruington, & Mary Amanda (Andrew) Williamson and their children Henry MacAdoo, Grace, Lucy, and a baby on the way

A private family service was held with burial in Ivy Hill Cemetery in Hardinsburg, KY, next to her husband. Honorary Pallbearers were Bryan Hamrick, Robert Holley, Miller Hendrick, J.L. Burke, Ryan

Chad Hendrick and AaronWamble.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bruingotn-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg, KY.
