Brandenburg has a new restaurant that promises to provide a different and delicious breakfast experience for Meade Countians.
Huevos Dias, owned and operated by Carlos and Elias Bravo, is now open for business. Elias says that they serve authentic, Mediterranean-style breakfast meals, and they want to provide their customers with more than just a tasty meal. Presentation is also important, as well as freshness of ingredients and authenticity to breakfast meals they would enjoy in their birthplace of Jalisco, Mexico.
“We focus on not just how the dishes taste, but how they look, too,” said Elias. “We want to sell an experience, not just food.”
The Bravos have a rich culinary history in their family. Their uncle started the second restaurant in Chicago in 1946, and their father worked for him. The family also owns and operates El Caminos, and they plan on opening more restaurants in and around the area in the future.
Elias says that they want to provide a great meal at a great price as a way to give back to the community that has helped their family prosper over the years.
“People in Meade County welcomed our family with open arms,” said Elias. “We really feel like we’re a part of the community, and we want to use this as an opportunity to show our appreciation.”
He says that they do not want to compete with other restaurants in the area.
“We have other breakfast places here, but we are totally different,” says Elias. “I call them my co-competition because we are in the same community. I don’t want to do anything to hurt my neighbors.”
Among their menu items, the breakfast tacos promise to be a fan favorite. Three fresh, flour tortillas are filled with scrambled eggs, fried shredded potato, chorizo or bacon, queso fresco, avocado and a side of homemade salsa.
Their chilaquiles with eggs, which is tomatillo green salsa, fried tortilla chips, sour cream, queso fresco and two eggs, is an authentic dish that also promises to please tastebuds.
Their current hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, call 270-422-2030 or visit their website at www.muyhuevosdias.com.
