Norma Lee Dowell Kinnison

Norma Lee Dowell Kinnison age 89 of Guston, Kentucky passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at Indian Creek Nursing and Rehab in Corydon IN.

She was born on August 26, 1931 in IL, to the late Orum Norton and Gracie Susan Meador Norton. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, Paul Willard Dowell, and Melvin Narse Kinnison; two brothers, Duane Norton, and James Norton; four sisters, Mary Alice Otten, Ruth Evelyn Cannon, Edna Brown, and Henrietta Miller; and one daughter, Charlotte Beyer.

Mrs. Kinnison worked at Galantie’s Studio, and Eleanor Beard’s Studio in Hardinsburg KY, and owned and operated her own business Norma Lee’s Fabric Shop for many years. She was a member of Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Sewing and quilting was her life, and she had a great love for flowers. She was an all-around wonderful person and was a devoted granny to all of her cherished grandchildren.

Norma is survived by her: daughter, Connie (Chuck) Stivers of Union Star; son, Myron Neil Kinnison of Indianapolis IN.; grandchildren, William Beyer of Louisville, Kaylan Cannon of Union Star, Micheal Kinnison of Mountain City TN., Zakk Stivers of Union Star, David (Mallory) Stivers of Georgetown IN, and Brendan Stivers of Louisville; and great-grandchildren, Kaleah Cannon, Kylie Mae, Xander Stivers, and Roman Stivers; two sisters, Dorothy Hobbs of Hardinsburg, and Helen Hobbs of Harned; and one brother, Edward Norton of Harned.

Visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 4-8 PM EST, and Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 9AM-2PM EST.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM EST at Alexander Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Lauterbach officiating. Burial will follow in the Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, next to her first husband Paul Dowell.
