The PINS group will have their next regular meeting on Monday evening, May 23, 2022 at the Brandenburg Riverfront Park Pavilion #1 at 7 p.m. Come early and visit with members, all animal lovers are invited! On the agenda will be elections for officers, reports about the PINS programs including Spay/Neuter vouchers of pets and feral cats and low income programs. This year, PINS has helped 278 pets get fixed as of April. Overall the group has helped 12,828 cats and dogs get spayed or neutered since 2001 using donated money, grants and Kroger Community Reward money. The group spent over $44,000 in 2021 to help pets in Meade County. The next fundraiser will be an indoor/outdoor yard sale at the Old Irvington School on June 3-4. The Clothes Closet will also have a sale going on this weekend. The group is collecting items for this endeavor, with drop off at the school on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or bring to Creature Comfort Boarding Kennel. Free pet flea bombs and dog shampoo will be given away at the yard sale. For information about Pets In Need Society or to obtain a Spay/Neuter Voucher call our voicemail at (270) 422-3838 and a volunteer will return your call.
