Tyler Petty, 18, of Vine Grove, was indicted by the Meade County Grand Jury this month for murder and tampering with physical evidence.
Petty was arrested on May 21 when, according to law enforcement, a Meade County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to an address on Woodland Road in Flaherty to perform a welfare check on Cris Blehar, 65. Blehar was found deceased in the residence with apparent knife and bullet wounds. Officers learned that Petty had been at the residence on May 19.
According to police, Petty stated that he stabbed and shot Blehar in an interview following his arrest.
Petty’s arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 5.
