Recycling . . . A priceless gift to the earth

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and hope that all of your celebrations will be safe.

A huge thank you goes out to all of Meade County’s recyclers. Not only are you giving the earth a priceless gift but you are also helping to conserve natural resources for descendants of your own family! Recycling conserves energy, cuts down on pollution, reduces the amount of waste going to landfills and also helps create jobs.

Due to the increasing spread of Covid 19, the following procedures will remain in place until further notice: WINDOWS INSIDE THE GATE ARE CLOSED. ALL RECYCLABLE MATERIAL SHOULD BE PLACED IN THE BINS LOCATED OUTSIDE OF THE FENCE OR YOU MAY TAKE THEM TO A SATELLITE LOCATION NEAR YOU.

Plastic, newspaper and metal containers should be placed in their respective bins outside of the fence. These bins have openings on both front and back and are labeled on all sides.

The holiday season generates large quantities of cardboard so, please, ONLY CARDBOARD SHOULD BE PLACED IN CARDBOARD BINS.

Items that we recycle include aluminum cans, antifreeze, batteries, cardboard, magazines, scrap metals, newspaper, oil, steel cans and #1 and #2 plastics. Please note that antifreeze, batteries, magazines, scrap metal and oil are accepted only at the main center, in Brandenburg.

Satellite locations for your convenience are as follows:
