Retired Teachers Appreciation Week

Meade County Judge-Executive Leslie Stith has issued a proclamation honoring Meade County’s retired teachers during Kentucky’s Retired Teachers Week. Oct. 19-23 is the 9th annual Retired Teachers Week. Your local retired teachers do much to give back to their community. In the past year, MCRTA members have donated to many local efforts, including the Golden Angels Christmas Ministry, the Angel Tree Ministry, the local food pantry, and the Family Support Service Centers in Meade’s schools, as well as giving new books to our Meade County Public Library.

Retired teachers continue to render valuable services in diverse leadership roles in their community. They represent a tremendous pool of experience and training which remains dedicated to the betterment of society everywhere. These individuals represent a loyal, patriotic and concerned citizenry, which provide educated and dependable support to the leaders of our communities, nation, and state.

Established in 1957, RTA is the largest association (with nearly 32,000 members of retired educators) in the state whose sole purpose is to look out of the welfare of retired Kentucky educators.
