Rev. James Houston Royalty, 91, of Radcliff, died Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Hosparus Health Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.
He was the charter pastor of Red Hill Baptist Church in Radcliff, having served there as pastor for 71 years. He was the founder of Royalty Printing Company Inc. and The Sentinel newspaper in Radcliff, and was a farmer and a beekeeper. He was a graduate of Georgetown College, Elizabethtown High School and was a native of Lawrenceburg.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Jean Royalty of Radcliff; three children, Levodis A. Royalty and Marlene Royalty Lawson, both of Radcliff, and Ralph E. Royalty of Meade County; and one granddaughter, Meagan W. Lawson of Nashville, Tennessee.
A private funeral service will be held at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove. Burial will be in North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff. A memorial service and fellowship meal will be held at Red Hill Baptist Church at a later date.
