Richard Burke Lawson



Mr. Richard Burke Lawson, age 66, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020, at Baptist Health in Louisville. He was born on October 8, 1953, the son of William Harvey and Louise Elizabeth (Powell) Lawson. Burke loved camping, softball, and his U of K Wildcats.

Burke was preceded in death by his parents; his great-grandchild, Riley; and two brothers, Roger and Dale Lawson. He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Lawson; two daughters, Bridget Morris and her husband, Ernie, Jennifer Nevitt, and her fiance, Tim; five grandchildren, Kerstin Nevitt, Kaylee Chanley, and Collin, Mollie and Madison Morris; four great-grandchildren, Israel, Bentley, Noah, and Colton; three brothers, James Lawson, Clayton Lawson and Larry Lawson; four sisters, Edith Darnall, Ramona Benham, Charlotte Lawson and Lois Dye; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Due to COVID-19, funeral services will be private for Burke’s immediate family only. Public visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 120 Bethel Church Road, Brandenburg, KY 40108.
