Robert “Bobby” Dean Shilts

Robert “Bobby” Dean Shilts, 84 of Irvington, passed away on December 18, 2020, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital Extended Care. He was born August 22, 1936, in Jamestown, KY. to the late Helen Haynes Chinn. Preceding him in death is one brother, Billy Jones.

Bobby was a farmer and retired from Olin Corporation Doe Run Plant Brandenburg, KY., an active member of Irvington United Methodist Church, and a member of Irvington Masonic Lodge F&AM #868. He was very active in the Breckinridge County Cattleman’s Association, being inducted into the Kentucky Cattleman’s Association Hall of Fame in 2017. He was a former board member at United Producers, Inc. as well as a former member of the Breckinridge County Hospital Board. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening; however, nothing compared to the immense love he had for his family.

Bobby is survived by: his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Rollie Carden Shilts; his three sons, Jerry Shilts of Hardinsburg, Barry Shilts of Brandenburg, and Todd (Amanda) Shilts of Webster; his grandchildren, Dean (Marah) Shilts, Morgan (Caitlin) Shilts, Eleanor (Joe) Tarr, Matthew Shilts, Jacob Shilts, Madeline Shilts, and Caroline Shilts; his great-grandchildren, Beckham Shilts and Carden Tarr; and one brother, Melvin Shilts.

Services have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington, KY. Due to COVID-19 precaution, the funeral service will be private and for the family only.
