Rumfelt released after $100,000 bond paid

 On Friday, Denny Rumfelt’s $100,000 bond was paid, and he was released from the Meade County Detention Center.

 Rumfelt was arrested on Sept. 22 and charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse.

 According to the Meade County Sheriff’s office, Rumfelt allegedly confessed to family members that he had murdered a woman, later identified as 26-year-old Meaghan Dunn, of Vine Grove.

 Law enforcement discovered Dunn’s body inside a sleeping bag wrapped in duct tape in a 1997 GMC Sierra truck.

 She had duct tape around her mouth and a piece of tape wrapped around her eyes, according to officials.

 After Rumfelt’s arrest, authorities interviewing him noticed what appeared to be blood on his shirt and sleeve. He had a small laceration to his lower arm as well as a laceration to his left little finger between the bend of the finger and the knuckle.
